New Album By Khu.éex’: Featuring Preston Singletary

7th October 2026

"Khu-Tron: Cloned Hardware" by Khu.éex’

Khu.éex’, which features co-founder Preston Singletary on bass, is an Indigenous band full of creative members, including storytellers, activists and artists, that bring this collective energy to the stage as one powerful unit.

Their upcoming album “Khu-Tron: Cloned Hardware” will be released Friday October 9th, digitally on Bandcamp and on CD on the Khu.éex’ website.

The music on "Khu-Tron: Cloned Hardware" features a stripped-down band lineup, primarily as an instrumental keyboards/bass/drums/guitar quartet.

Funk is at the core of the music on this set with journeys into fusion, go-go, jungle, R&B, and hard rock. As Preston Singletary (co-founder/bassist) notes, this CD is the last of the material that was created with Bernie Worrell, The Wizard of WOO!

As Singletary notes, "We were accumulating so much material from the first 2 sessions we’d recorded with him we decided to go a different route. We thought that we should work on a few concise things rather than hit record and start jamming.

This material was recorded between the albums "They Forgot They Survived" and "Héen" but got lost in the shuffle. We continued to develop music in the studio with Bernie that we developed into the album "WOOch", which became one of the most robust productions we’ve released.

After several years we have opened these recordings and wanted to share them on this CD. It was all very bitter-sweet to mix this material and package it. We continue to try and channel former band members Bernie Worrell and Clarissa Rizal, both of whom passed away in 2016. Moving forward we like to measure ourselves against what we think they would like to hear, and if they would be proud of what we’ve come up with. "
