South Florida PBS
Several important sculptures were recently unveiled during the Grand Opening Celebration of The Bailey Cultural Arts Center and Taylor Performance Hall on the flagship Boynton Beach, Florida campus of South Florida PBS.
Among the stunning sculptures, made possible by The Klorfine Foundation, is a brilliant cobalt blue, three-foot tall lead crystal totem by Preston Singletary, titled Fog Woman.
This totem represents the story of Raven who married Fog Woman from the cloud world. The Fog Woman sculpture will be on permanent display for visitors to enjoy.
Figge Art Museum
The Figge Art Museum in Davenport, Iowa has recently received a gift titled Raven Hat by Preston Singletary, generously donated by the Graves family in honor of Nancy Graves, a lifelong educator, art advocate, and admirer of artists.
Nancy and her husband Dean encountered Preston Singletary’s work early on through a shared interest in Indigenous art and artists. The work joins The Figge Art Museum's permanent collection at a meaningful moment, just ahead of the upcoming large solo exhibition Preston Singletary: Raven and the Box of Daylight, opening February 14th.
Preston Singletary: Raven and the Box of Daylight, is a multisensory exhibition rooted in Tlingit storytelling and the enduring figure of Raven, who brings light to the world.
